Simulator for calibrating power meters
The power line simulator was designed and developed to provide high accuracy calibration voltages and currents for electrical power meters. A programmable set of voltage and current waveforms and levels was provided to simulate voltages as high as 600 volts RMS three-phase, simultaneously with three-phase five Amperes currents for use with current transformers. Interchangeable transformer sets provided for different line voltage cases. This instrument was designed to be portable and used on location, as well as in-house to verify the performance of power meters.
